The LA28 organising committee launched the official ticket draw on January 14, marking a major milestone in preparations for the Games, which will be held from July 14–30, 2028. The process will determine purchaser time slots for the initial ticket sales window in April.

Fans must register online before March 18, 2026 to be entered into the draw, which assigns random purchase windows. Winners will receive an email notification between March 31 and April 7 indicating their assigned slot, during which they can buy tickets during an April 9–19 sales period.

Affordable Pricing for a Global Audience

LA28 officials have pledged a ticketing strategy emphasising accessibility and value, including at least one million seats priced at $28 (about £21) and roughly one-third of all available tickets under $100. This initiative aims to ensure that a broader range of fans can realistically attend Olympic competition.

Organisers have also confirmed that dynamic pricing which adjusts costs based on demand will not be used in the initial ticket sales phase, in contrast to some other global sporting events.

Local Presale Window for Los Angeles and Oklahoma City Residents

In recognition of host communities, residents of the greater Los Angeles area and Oklahoma City, where softball and canoe slalom events will take place, have a chance to secure tickets during a locals’ presale window from April 2–6, 2026. To qualify for this early access, registrants must enter the ticket draw by the March 18 deadline and have a billing ZIP code in designated counties in California or Oklahoma.

How the Lottery Works and Next Steps

Unlike traditional first-come, first-served sales, LA28’s ticket lottery assigns time slots at random. Organisers emphasise that the order in which fans register does not affect their chances of being selected for an earlier purchase window.

Tickets being offered in this initial phase include entries to opening and closing ceremonies as well as competition sessions across all sports programmes. More ticket rounds and additional sales phases are expected to follow later in 2026 and beyond.

The Paralympic Games, scheduled for August 15–27, 2028, will have a separate ticket sales programme starting in 2027.
